Gatwick Airport South Terminal

Gatwick Airport South Terminal is the original terminal, opened in 1958, at Gatwick and has been expanded to handle the increasing traffic through the airport.

The South Terminal handles American Airlines, Continental, Northwest, US Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights and others.

The terminal offers all the usual facilities, including shops, car hire desks and refreshment areas and there are airport lounges. The area on the upper mezzanine floor called "The Village" has a number of shopping and catering establishments and serves both Departures and Arrivals.

The Departures and Arrivals areas are housed on the same level but have completely separate facilities. The Departure check-in arrangements are good with overhead TV monitors and clear signs at each entrance.

Gatwick's South Terminal has more shops and places to eat and drink in the International Departure lounge (available to passengers only). Gatwick Airport South Terminal
